Accicure BSM (MBS)

Composition: 2-(morpholinothio)benzothiazole

Uses: Accicure BSM is a delayed action accelerator; its general characteristics closely resemble Accicure HBS, but with better scorch resistance.  It is of particular value in tyre tread and other compounds containing reinforcing furnace blacks. Accicure BSM is also useful with siliceous fillers and in other rubber compounds where maximum processing safety is required. When used in conjugation with Accitard RE fast curing yet very safe systems are obtainable in compounds containing reinforcing blacks, e.g, tyre tread, extrudable and camelback compounds.Typical dosage in NR varies from 0.5 – 1.0 phr and in SBR dosages from 1.0 – 1.5 phr are normally used.

Accicure DCS (DCBS)

Composition: Dicyclohexyl benzthiazyl sulphenamide

Uses: For camelback (retread) compounds intended for long-term storage at  ambient temperature. Possesses greater scorch safety than Accicure BSM..

Accicure HBS (CBS)

Composition: Cyclohexyl benzthiazyl sulphenamide

Uses: For tyre treads and compounds containing reinforcing furnace blacks. Possessing safety lower than Accicure BSM. Also available in crystalline powder form..

Accicure BSB (TBBS)

Composition: Tert-Butylbenzthiazyl Sulphenamide

Uses: Accicure BSB is a delayed action accelerator with intermediate scorch safety between Accicure HBS and Accicure BSM. Accicure BSB gives higher cure rates and increasing amount of scorch safety is achieved with the increase of concentration in NR based compounds. When used in conjugation with Accitard RE, fast curing yet very safe systems are obtainable in compounds containing reinforcing blacks, e.g, tyre tread, extrudable and camelback compounds. Typical dosage in NR varies from 0.5 – 1.0 phr and in SBR from 1.0 – 1.5 phr. It can be suitably boosted with Accicure TMT / Accicure ZDC to give fast curing yet safe processing compounds.

Accicure MBT

Composition: 2-Mercaptobenzthiazole

Uses: For tubes, wire insulation, footwear, clothing, and rubber products in general. For moulded articles,Accicure MBT, boosted with thiuram or dithiocarbamate, is a very popular system..

Accicure MBTS

Composition: Dibenzthiazyl disulphide

Uses: For tyres, tubes, cables,footwear, rubberised fabrics, and moulded rubber products..

Accicure TMT (TMTD)

Composition: Tetramethyl thiuram disulphide

Uses: In dipped goods, proofed fabrics, and all kinds of mechanical goods. Accicure TMT, in combination with other acclerators, yields relatively faster curing compounds based on SBR, Nitrile, Neoprene, and Butyl rubbers.

Accicure ZMBT

Composition: Zinc salt of Mercaptobenzthiazole

Uses: Accicure ZMBT has accelerator properties intermediate between those of Accicure MBT and Accicure MBTS, being less scorchy than Accicure MBTS and also intermediate in state of cure. The vulcanisate properties are closely similar to those of Accicure MBT. Accicure ZMBT is specially recommended for latex compounds with Accicure ZDC to give high modulus rubbers. A similar combination produces latex foams with a high compression modulus. Typical dosage varies from 0.5 – 1.5 phr.

Accicure ZDC

Composition: Zinc diethyl dithiocar bamate.

Uses: Accicure ZDC is fast curing at low temperatures, has limited scorch safety and gives vulcanisates with good levels of mechanical properties. It is too scorchy for extensive use as a sole accelerator in a "dry" rubber compound. It is flat curing, imparts good ageing properties, is non staining and is extremely useful as a booster of Accicure MBT, MBTS and HBS giving fast curing yet reasonably safe combinations. Accicure ZDC is extremely popular for a wide range of latex applications. Typical dosage : 0.2 – 1.5 phr, higher dosages are normally used in latex compounds.

Accicure ZDBC

Composition: Zinc diethyl dithiocar bamate.

Uses: Accicure ZDBC is an active accelerator like Accicure ZDC. Its major difference is its higher solubility in rubber, tending to give better transparency and lower risk of blooming from vulcanisates. The vulcanisate properties are closely similar to those of Accicure ZDC. It has highest solubility in EPDM rubbers and is a preferred accelerator in combination with others for non-blooming EPDM compound applications which entail extruded profiles for automobiles. Typical dosage varies from 0.25 to 1.5 phr depending upon the application envisaged.

Accicure MS (TMTM)

Composition: Tetramethyl thiuram monosulphide

Uses: Accicure MS is a fast accelerator often used as a booster for good processing safety in comparison with other thiurams. Unlike thiuram disulphides, the monosulphides do not produce satisfactory cures in complete absence of elemental sulphur. Typical dosage: 0.2 – 0.5 phr. In polychloroprene rubbers, Accicure MS(1.0 phr)used with DPG or DOTG (1.0 phr) and sulphur (0.5 phr) gives a curing system which is a useful alternative to ethylene thiourea (ETU). It offers better processing safety with similar curing activity.

Accicure DPG

Composition: Diphenyl guanidine

Uses: Accicure DPG is used (normally in the range 0.5±0.3 phr dosages) as a secondary accelerator in combination with thiazoles and sulphenamides. Such combinations give fast cures and a high level of physicals with good modulus and are very popular for footwear & cables, etc. As a replacement of ETU, it is a preferred accelerator for Neoprenes used in conjunction with Accicure TMT or Accicure MS (TMTMS) where usage of both normally stay around 1 phr. It is also a popular accelerator (2.5-3 phr) for ebonites. Accicure DPG is used in NR latex as a secondary gelling agent (“foam stabilizer”) in the silico-fluoride-gelled latex foam process.

Accicure F
(ACTIVATED THIAZOLE)

Composition: Activated Thiazole

Uses: Accicure F show the desirable properties of Accicure MBT (fast cure with flat optimum, excellent ageing properties and freedom from discoloration) but produce higher levels of tensile strength/modulus and have a greatly improved processing safety. It is widely used in hose, footwear, cables and various types of general mouldings. Typical dosage varies from1.0 – 1.5 phr in most applications.
